Thank you to all those that attended this year. We had great event and were able to pay over 140% in the am field and 185% in the pro field. A little lopsided because of the number of no shows in the pro field. Thanks again for coming, hope to see you at the millstream open.

This years players pack will not include the coveted disc storage boxes from the 2010 event. However they will be available on a limited basis for $20, 20 were made around 10 remain. If you want one, make your reservation for tournament pickup. 100% of the proceeds go to event, so it is money well spent. You can reserve one by calling mike @ 320-420-6672. They might be back for the 2012 event if demand dictates.

We are now a couple weeks from this great tournament. Registration is coming along and for amateur players to be gauranteed a shirt in their size you must pre-register by next week Weds.
Also, we have some great raffle items that you can purchase tickets for. Tickets are 2 for $5 or 5 for $10. You need not be present to win, but we will not ship the larger items.
Raffle items are a Mach Lite donated by DGA, a Mach Series Mini basket donated by DGA, a Black DGA hoodie, $50 Fairway Flyerz gift card, $25 Scheels gift card, $25 Jimmy John’s gift card, and one of Mike’s great wooden disc boxes with tournament disc and stickers. We are hoping to continue to add to this as well as our pile of great CTP prize.
This is a super fun tournament and last MN A tier for the season, so come out and play!

A new challenge on #3 short at millstream. A recent storm knocked down a few trees, but rest assured things will be picked neat and tidy before the throwdown.

Welcome July 30, 2011

Welcome back to the second annual NorthStar Throwdown. This is again a PDGA A tier tournament hosted here on our courses in St. Cloud, MN.
This year the North Star Throwdown is on August 27 & 28, 2011. Already there are many people to thank for their continued support. For a second year top sponsor DGA, the St. Cloud Disc Golf Club, the Minnesota Frisbee Association, Fairway Flyerz, and Parked.
Here is a little breakdown of what to expect. This years tournament will be the same format as last year with 3 rounds of play for all divisions. All rounds will be 18 holes, an unusual change from my tournaments. The Pro schedule will have them starting off Saturday morning playing Riverside and then onto Millstream. On Sunday they will play their third round at Millstream to be followed by a Final 9 at Millstream for the top 4 Pro scores. The Am schedule begins on Saturday at Millstream followed by an afternoon round at Riverside. Their third round on Sunday morning will be back at Millstream. After the Final 9 awards will be done at Millstream. We can already guarantee the Pro winner will walk away with at least $1,000, the Advanced winner will be getting a Mach V basket with custom tournament number plate from DGA, and the Intermediate winner will receive a Mach Lite.
Planning for an A tier tournament is fun and very exciting, especially since so many others are so excited for it. If you have any ideas or are interested in helping with something please let me know.
